Are You Drunk?
This table shows the estimated percent of alcohol in the blood according to body weight and the number of drinks consumed. One drink equals one ounce of 100-proof alcohol, a 4-ounce glass of wine, or a 12-ounce bottle of beer. Alcohol in the blood decreases over time. To calculate how much time decreases blood-alcohol level, subtract .015 for each hour that has passed since the first drink.

The Scope of the Alcohol Problem
Alcohol is a factor in nearly half of all accidental
deaths , suicides, and home accidents including 42 percent
of all deaths from motor vehicle accidents.
• An estimated 18 million adults 18 years and older in
the United States currently experience problems as a
result of alcohol use.
• Alcohol can cause functional changes in heart tissue
even in young adults, and is associated with many
cancers, damage to other vital organs, diminished Immunity
to disease, and many other health problems .
• Alcohol is twice as popular among college students
as the next leading drug, marijuana , and more than
five times as popular as cocaine.
• Drinking differences between boys and girls are diminishing.
The number of young female drinkers has
been increasing more rapidly, and girls also tend to
experiment more with alcohol. C-Two-thirds of the adult U.S.
population drink; however, the 10 percent of these- (6.5 percent of the total
adult population) who rink most heavily drink the total amount of alcohol consumed.
Alcohol and the Human Body:
Several recent studies now show a connection to over drinking and a lack of emotional intelligence. Many with over drinking issues (getting drunk and driving DUI's) have "arrested emotional intelligence"...AEI. I discuss AEI in an earlier web based document on this webpage.
