RELATIONSHIP ADDICTION...ADDICTED TO A PERSON? ARE YOU RELATIONSHIP OBSESSIVE OR LOVE OBSESSIVE? RELATIONSHIP ANXIETY AND OCD TREATMENT EXPLAINED.
Your Subconscious is the KEY!
What is Relationship Addiction and is there a CURE?
Relationship Addiction is described by the inability to consistently abstain, a deficiency in behavioral control, a longing, reduced recognition of major problems with one’s behaviors in some (or all) interpersonal relationships, and a dysfunctional emotional response.
Like other disorders, chronic relationship addiction often involves cycles of relapse and remission. Without treatment and a commitment in recovery activities, relationship addiction is progressively debilitating.
The Relationship Addict checklist:
1. Like other addictions the codependency to a person allows relationship addicts to feel alive, a sense of purpose, and to gain a sense of meaning and self-worth.
2. Relationship addicts are driven by a fantasy hope that a person will complete them.
3. Most relationship addicts start out attempting to meet some known or unknown emotional need, and then they become codependent on the inebriating feelings.
4. Unfortunately, as in the case of addicts, relationship addicts, too, may become incapable of getting their desired emotional satisfaction, which in turn increases their relationship addiction.
5. They often feel an emotionally scorching, passionate love that wants to give and give, destroying their sense of mortality when they lose the person they've given to.
6. This sometimes leads to causing them to feel and act out in a revengeful way.
7. The relationship addict suffers arrested emotional development in childhood, including an inability to give and receive affection, self-destructive behavior, problems with control, and lack of healthy long term relationships.
8. Relationship addicts commonly and repeatedly form an addictive relationship with emotionally unavailable Avoidant partners. Familiarity is the central engine of their relationship.
The Avoidant Partner of a Relationship Addict checklist:
1. The Avoidant partner is normally compulsively counter dependent, they fear being engulfed, drowned, & smothered by their relationship addict lovers.
2. Each is attracted to the other specifically because of the familiar traits that the other exhibits, and although painful, come from childhood and arrested emotions.
3. Relationship addicts enter into relationships with emotionally closed off a person that makes intimate relationships almost impossible.
4. Behind their Avoidant emotional walls, hides low self-esteem and feel if they are emotional intimacy, no one would ever love, accept, and value them for who they are.
5. Avoidant partners are attracted to people who have difficulty thinking for themselves, having healthy emotional boundaries, or taking care of themselves in healthy manners.
6. Relationship Avoidant partners form relationships that inevitably lead to unhealthy patterns of codependency, distance, confusion, and often abuse.
7. Nevertheless, however unsatisfactory the relationship, relationship addicts hang on and on to the avoidant, because it is what they know.
8. Ambivalent relationship addicts fluctuate between relationship addiction and relationship avoidance. This can happen in successive relationships or in the same relationship. It is especially common in recovery to become ambivalent about a healthy relationship. It is new and therefore unfamiliar, and to some, frightening.
9. This relationship cycle encompasses a push-pull dance full of emotional highs and many lows where for the relationship addict while the avoidant is on the run. They both engage in an imitation of emotional involvement.
10. For both healthy emotional intimacies is replaced with and negative intensity, ironically creating the illusion of true love, intimacy, and connection usually on a subconscious level.
11. As a result, addict and avoidant relationships, although seemingly dramatic in their intensity, are actually extremely shallow.

The Answer?
A Relational Preoccupation is caused by what is underneath the problem of the addiction—the underlying ‘core symptoms’ that lead you to a compulsive dependency of a person in your relationships.
In sum, the following are the issues that need to be tackled:
Fear of Abandonment… one of the extreme fears and emotional triggers in addictive relationships.
Denial… relationship addicts enter relationships in denial of their partner‘s truth, the relationship and the ‘Self’. When this denial begins to deteriorate the withdrawal symptoms of RA occur (see above).
Damaged Self Worth & Lethal Shame…through internal feelings of shame, relationship addicts have difficulty authenticating their own inherent value and self-worth, have a inaccurate reality and false beliefs about themselves and about love or intimacy…also note problems of anger, isolation, depression and anxiety occur.

Relationship Addiction can be Cured, but it takes some deep
looking inward and a understanding of how You may have lost your Heart in the past.
